Heather in VA
I have a friend who wants to homeschool her daughter next year for 6th grade. She is bored and they are having to give her so much work at home it's becoming pointless to waste 7 hours a day waiting to be challenged when she gets home. Her local high school is actually a secondary school (7-12) and it is possible she will go back then. They have a child in that school and it offers a lot of options. So for the moment it could just be 6th grade. I'm trying to give her a variety of things to look at so she can get an idea of what is out there. I would like to compile a list of curricula for advanced/gifted kids. They are Jewish so secular stuff would be best. She has been taking classes with the John's Hopkins Talent program and loving them if that helps give an idea of things she might like. Thanks! Heather in VA
Thanks everyone! This is a great start for her. I sat down to create a list and knew I was forgetting a lot of good ones. Hopefully this will help her make a good decision.
Julie of KY
AoPS Teaching Company Look at courses on edX or Coursera Center for Literature (not specifically gifted at all, but good) Brave Writer - works well for gifted as well as reluctant writers
