Beautiful Feet Books Study Guides

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for some feedback on the BFB Study Guides, particularly A History of Science guide, History of the Horse guide, and Teaching Character through Literature guide. Has anyone used any of these? I love their literature based approach and the book lists look pretty great! I was planning on using either the Science guide or the Horse guide as our history for the year and the Character guide as Bible/Literature/Read-A-Louds. Any help or input is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We are just finishing up Early American Primary, so I'm not much help with the others. But we've really enjoyed it and plan to do other guides in the future when my kids are a little older. Next year we're doing their geography guide, then hopefully science a year or two after they.

My DD used the History of the Horse study guide this year (6th grade), and really enjoyed it.  She will be using the Western Expansion Study Guide next year, and my DS will be using the History of Science guide next year for 3rd grade.  I've already purchased these and paged through them, they look pretty good to me :)

Thank you for the response. I looked at the Geography one as well since my 6 yr old son loves maps, but was worried that it may be too much for him. I may contact them at BFB and ask what they would recommend as my best option for my 8 & 6 yr old.

Do you feel that the Horse Guide would be too much for a 3rd grader and 1st grader? My plan was to do it with them together, not having it done independently yet.

I actually won the Science guide from a giveaway a few years back which is why I was considering it as well since I already own it, but the horse one appeals to me atm, because my daughter is horse crazed! :)

Thanks for you response!

We're doing the geography one right now.  I'm using it with a 12, 9, 7 and 5 year old.  My older 2 are getting the most out of it.  The younger 2 are enjoying the story and coloring the map.

But, I really love BF!  This is our 2nd guide to use, and I plan to use more. (we did Early American Intermediate before this)

I'd say the horse guide could work for a 3rd grader, but would be a little much for a 1st grader.  Of course the first grader could just listen to the stories and not be required to write out the definitions and draw maps and such.
