PrincessMommy
I bought the book "Boundaries" based on several recommendations here. However, I'm put off by the fluffy stories that are heavy on the Protestant Christian content. I've only read the first "story" about the lady who is over doing it with work/familly/church. But, I'm finding it's going on for pages and pages. Then I looked ahead and it seems there's a couple more of these stories. Really? Is there any meat to this book? It's leaving me wondering if there's not a secular book (or even another Christian one) that has more meat and less anecdotes about boundaries. Or is that just the nature of this particular subject? sunflowerlady
Well, I guess the stories are for illustrations of the topic of "boundaries". I could see how a person could read along about what boundaries are and why we need them and wonder how it all would work out in real life application. I liked the book, but will follow along to see if there are other suggestions. I think it is a really important topic.
momacacia
I hated the Boundaries book. Necessary Endings (by either Cloud or Townsend) is MUCH better. Can't remember how much CC is in there, but it is boundaries in business so a lot more cut and dried and analytical. LOVE the book (in a no-fluff way ;)).
