Biz-e-mom
Do any of you do this with your high school child(ren)? If so, are there any free online academic resources where you can test your child(ren) by timing them doing math, langage arts, history, and science at grade levels 9-12? wapiti
I would look for resources for ACT/SAT prep. Is there a reason one would want to do this outside of ACT/SAT prep? (Generally speaking, in my world, faster isn't smarter.)
Muttichen
I Is there a reason one would want to do this outside of ACT/SAT prep? In college there is a time limit on tests.
Biz-e-mom
Hi wapiti and Muttichen, Thanks for your replies.😊 We are just wanting to see how well our son does on a timed test. Plus, if later on down the road if he decides to take an online college course this will help give him some kind of idea of what it feels like to take an online timed test.😉
Gratia271
For some freebies, I would check out some standardized test prep books for things like SAT or ACT with high schoolers and try a section or two just to determine their comfort level with time constraints. For some kids, time constraints are no big deal, but it is a big problem for others. My sister's kids who homeschooled were never "subjected" (her wording) to any timed tests until big stakes college entrance exams, and all three struggled tremendously (and did not do well as a result).
