Poetry-based writing curriculum?

Dd going-into-8th says she is tired of narrative and descriptive writing. She's a strong writer, and I see her point. She says she wants a poetry-based writing curriculum. Does such a thing exist?

Peace Hill Press puts out a series called The Creative Writer. I wouldn't start at the beginning, maybe jump in around book 3.

 

Classical Writing also puts out a series of poetry writing books. Again, I would probably start with the Intermediate level.

CAP's Art of Poetry is excellent, but it isn't really about writing poetry. The analysis skills learned in AoP would absolutely compliment such a study though.

 

Classical Writing does have poetry based levels. You might also look at Grammar of Poetry from Logos Press.

The Grammar of Poetry by Roman Roads Media. My daughter loved it and learned a lot.
