Night Elf
Ds has to do a lab experiment with a baking dish of sand. The sand we bought is damp. The experiment is to use a hair dryer to see the effects of wind erosion. The sand isn't moving because it's too heavy. How do I dry it out? It's cold outside. Would it still dry if I leave it in the pan and set it outside? He can't move on in his course until this lab is done so I don't want to wait a week or more for this stuff to get dry. mom2att
I would spread it out on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven on a very low temp, stirring through it periodically to get the damp sand on the bottom to the top to dry out. That should do the trick.
Night Elf
Hmm.. I didn't think about the oven. I'm certainly willing to give it a try.
Chris in VA
I sometimes color salt and sand for our sensory play. I use the oven--works like a charm!
