Even those that are legit, SO many people apply, that the odds of getting one are about the same at winning the powerball lottery. JMO: far better to focus efforts on actually attainable scholarships: - awarded by the college the student applies to/is accepted to - scholarships on the lists handed out at the local public high school guidance office - awarded by local organizations and groups - scholarships in the "big books" at the library (Kaplan Scholarships, by Schlachter, Peterson's Scholarships, Grants & Prizes, etc.) For an overview of the scholarship search process, check out post #5 of this thread: "Preparing for college: what scholarships/grants to apply for?", which is in the pinned thread ("Transcripts… Scholarships/Financial Aid, College Prep/Applications… -- links to past threads here!") at the top of the high school board -- ost #5 has loads of links to past threads on scholarships chock full of helpful info and advice.
