Homeschooling6
Just thought I would ask;) I'm using MFW CtG with SOTW & Kingfisher. I have Jen's SOTW & Kingfisher schedule which is wonderful by the way, but I was wondering if anyone has done a schedule to go along with MFW:glare: Blessings,
paula j
Hi linda, This is what I came up with, not sure if it is perfect but I will be using this schedule to link SOTW with CtG this year. I'm a little nervous posting this as I'm sure it isn't perfect. I have went through the guide, week by week, and also the SOTW activity guide, SOTW text, and the CtG appendix resource list week by week and this is where the chapters seemed to fit in the best. You will notice there are a couple of weeks where I have listed two chapters of SOTW, this is because there didn't seem to be anywhere else where I could fit them. If you don't think you can cover two chapters in one week you could always skip one or see if there is a week where I don't have a SOTW chapter listed where you would like to fit it in. MFW Week Story of the World Chapter used 2 Introduction and Chapter 8 They Assyrians 3 Ch1 The Earliest People/Ch 2 Egyptians Lived on Nile 5 Ch 4 The Old Kingdom of Egypt - start Chicken mummy 6 Ch 5 The First Sumerian Dictator 7 Ch 3 The First Writing 9 Ch 6 The Jewish People 10 Ch 12 The Middle Kingdom of Egypt 11 Ch 7 Hamurabi and the Babylonians 12 Ch 13 The New Kingdom of Egypt 13 Ch 14 The Israelites Leave Egypt- Red Sea Diorama 16 Ch 26 The Peoples of the Americas 19 Ch 18 Life in Early Crete/Ch 19 Early Greeks 20 Ch 23 The Greek Gods 21 Ch 20 Greece Gets Civilized Again 23 Ch 15 The Phonecians 26 Ch 30 The Aryians of India/Ch 31 Marian Empire 27 Ch 32 China, Writing and the Qin 28 Ch 16 The Return of Assyria 29 Ch 17 Babylon Takes Over Again 30 Ch 22 Sparta and Athens 31 Ch 21 The Medes and Persians 33 Ch 24 The Wars of the Greeks 34 Ch 25 Alexander the Great You will notice some chapters of SOTW aren't scheduled, this is because they didn't really fit anywhere. If you wanted to add them, you could fit chapters 9-11 into weeks 14, 15, These chapters cover China, India, and Africa and the weeks cover the Exodus so I don't know how they would fit. I also didn't schedule the chapters on Rome as we won't be studying it this year. You could easily go ahead and read these chapters though, after you finish CtG, maybe as summer reading as a preview of RtR. I hope you will find this helpful. Christine
I'm a little nervous posting this as I'm sure it isn't perfect. I want to encourage you to post away! You have no idea how many times what someone is fearful of posting for fear of "im-perfectness" has been exactly what I've needed! Oops! Sorry it was Christine. I printed all four years out. Thanks Christine:D  No problem. . . I was all excited to see "Jenn's" link, as I was thinking maybe she had something I didn't. . . (because I'm not perfect you know! ;))
