Meljoy
I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this- but it is about curriculum- Why are most of the educational CDs I buy copyrighted so that they cannot be re-sold? These are disks that I DO NOT download permanently to my computer - but if I were to sell the disk what I have would be gone. I am thinking of the History Through the Ages timeline figures & Home School in the Woods Timetravlors units which I both LOVE - BTW and recently some disks with notebook pages for Geography- I noticed the copyright said it could not be re-sold. WHY is it not OK to re-sell homeschool curriculum CDs when it is OK to re-sell books??????? I realize some of these companies are homeschooling families and I am not trying ot stir anything up- I just want to know why the difference with CDs and books. Homeschooling6
I think cd's are a lot easier to copy. I'm sure there are more technical reasons but that one comes to mind. Not everyone is going to be honest and erase what they downloaded from it or copy it before they sell it.
dragons in the flower bed
Why are most of the educational CDs I buy copyrighted so that they cannot be re-sold? There's no other way for the publishers to protect themselves. It's a one click operation for someone to to copy or download the whole CD.
