The Pope is deep: Gerunds, generativity, good to great literature

I had to look up the definition of generativity.  What a great word, our world could use more generatively.

If you have read any news articles about what the Pope said, you are missing out, what he actually said was very deep and, I think, worth reading in full.

Even those who are not religious will likely enjoy his explanation of how he taught literature to young students.  (If you want to skip straight to this, it is near the end, the bolded "Art and Creativity" section.)

What a lovely interview, thank you for linking it. The paragraph about teaching literature was so sweet -- and I love the fact that he sent his students' stories to Borges! What a thrill that must have been for the kids!

You're welcome.  That is amazing, and they must have been thrilled, I agree!

Now if only more people would write, and more people would read 10,000 word thoughtful pieces instead of short, slanted pieces 100 - 1000 words long...

And if more people knew and practiced the word generativity...
