mamakelly
And then I came across Sharon Watson's (the woman who wrote Jump In), website. I didn't know she had a high schoo course "The Power is in Your Hand, writing Non Fiction in high school." So now I wonder if I should buy this instead and go slowly through it for my weak 9th grader writer. It looks great. Any thoughts? http://www.writingwithsharonwatson.com/WriteSW10.html
Mom22ns
I haven't seen the high school materials, so take this for what it is worth. We loved Jump In in middle school and I wouldn't hesitate to use it with a weak 9th grader. I'd just save the high school materials and do them next year. That way he can build on success. HollyDay
We used Jump In for 6th. It was good and dd liked it. For high school, we are starting out with Sharon Watson's fiction course. The samples I've seen online for "Power" look really good but I've not seen it in person. We might use it next semester.
