mrs.m
I obtained a copy of this DVD set a few weeks ago. :hurray: no books came with it. What do I need to get to go with this for my 3rd grader? Is it this http://www.excellenceinwriting.com/sim-ae? OR can I use a theme based book to use as the source texts after he watches the lesson? I think he will love the fables book but he enjoyed watching Mr. Pudewa and wanted to do the assignment for the lesson. I think he would take any source. Edit to add: I have TWSS DVD and have watched many of them, I also have the syllabus. We used IEW last year but not SWI.
teachingmy3
We have been using SWI-A and if it were me, I'd spend the $10 to get the handouts.

5LittleMonkeys
I would go with the handouts for the SWI. Trying to use the themed in place of the SWI lessons might be confusing to a dc new to the program.
