IceFairy
We are going to give Singapore another try, mostly because I need super 'open and go' this year (due to surgeries for bilateral hip dyplasia) and its built into Heart of Dakota. DS will be doing 1A/1B with Beyond. Technically, 1A is mostly review but since the style is super different than what he has learned, I thought it best to start at the beginning. Anyway, do I need the textbooks or HIG? HOD seems to cover quite a bit in the TG before assigning the workbook pages....but I want to make sure I am not missing anything. TIA :-)
twoxcell
I use the textbook for all SM levels even if they aren't scheduled in the HOD guides. I find them especially useful starting with 2a. I own the HIGs for 2a and up and use them occasionally. I have found all of my HIGs used from Amazon.
Bree
You only need the workbook for 1A&B. There are activities that are scheduled into the guide to replace the textbook and HIG. I have them also because we used SM before HOD, but if you were following the guide I would only get the workbook.
1000HillsRanch
I thought the HIG was necessary. I got kind of lost without it.
jer2911mom
I think so. I feel like doing Singapore without the HIG is liking doing two completely different programs. I don't even think you learn the term "number bond" without it in the first level. HTH, Kathy
