I used to have a job where I needed to refer to people by their title and last name. It was sometimes hard, but after awhile I figured out commonalities even in different languages. Sometimes I ran into people who had Americanized the pronounciation, if not the spelling, but they knew their names were ethnic and tricky so they were always good-natured about my efforts.
