Susie in SWVA
Can someone recommend a good biography of Isaac Newton? I have been looking on Amazon and I am just overwhelmed. I would like to find something engaging, but historically accurate. If anyone could offer a suggestion, I would greatly appreciate it. Laura in CA
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but we all loved the "Dead Famous" biographies ... it's British and rather irreverent (definitely "engaging"!), but contained a LOT of science and math (with illustrations). (Newton did a LOT I didn't know about ... just amazing ...) The book is by the same folks who do the Murderous Maths series. Amazon has it (Newton and His Apple: Dead Famous), but I see it's only available from third-party sellers. We got ours from Ray at Horrible Books in San Diego. Oh, looks like the series is now called "Horribly Famous" and it's here. So Ray should have it (you can just email him -- he has excellent customer service) or order it from somewhere in the UK.
