Amira
My nephew is visiting and we've had a change in plans today. So now I'm wondering if Old Town Alexandria would be a good place for us (me, three teenagers, and one 5yo) to spend the day. We've already done some museums with him in DC, and will do the Spy Musuem, and the monuments, and Arlington National Cemetery. I've visited DC often, but have only lived here for a couple of weeks, so I don't really know what's best to do outside the very typical DC stuff. If you have any other great ideas for today, let me know! I prefer to stick with the Metro unless there is really easy parking.
Chris in VA
Old Town can be fun. You could walk around the Torpedo Factory if they are ok with art stuff. I don't know if I could do the entire day there, tho. Can you make it to Mt. Vernon? That's worth a day.
NotSoObvious
The Torpedo Arts center is fun! You can take the free trolley through town. I agree it's not an all day trip though.
