swimmermom3 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Dh is at an estate sale. Vintage Dickens and Twain books available. Big sets nothing later than 1920. Some no copyright. Moby Dick - glorious illustrations. $2 each. I am looking at pictures sent from his Iphone. Do I want these? If they are abridged or some other deal, will I be able to unload them? Quote
PachiSusan Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I would buy them if you wanted them for your collection. I wouldn't buy them if you expect to make mega money off of them. There are so many things that go into the price for things like this. Quote
Dandelion Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I would buy them simply because I love vintage books. I have no idea if you'd be able to sell them or make money off of them. Quote

I have a lot ov vintge books. I don't have them because I want to make money. I have them because I love books! Quote
swimmermom3 Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 I had no intent of making any money off them. Hardbacks are getting so expensive for our permanent collection that I do keep a look out. But some times older versions are problematic for school. Dh is going to bring home one or two volumes from both collections and I can take a look. I love vintage books, but the majority of my books need to be usable too. Quote
