Life of Fred--text or workbook? Resalable?

For the Fractions, Decimals & Percents, and Pre-Algebra, they're text books (we don't have any of the others, so can't speak to them). You can resell them. There shouldn't be any writing in them—the author encourages students to write things down on paper. They are pretty hot in the resale market too, at least for now.

No writing in them at all. I have the elementary series, intermediate series, Fractions, and Decimals & Percents. All hardback books. The "Your Turn to Play" is intended to be done on separate paper, and he says in the front of the book NOT to write in the book. ;)

I do the Elementary series orally right now, though I don't know if he'll need paper more often later in the series. DS2 is in Cats right now. DS1 is in Fractions and always uses separate paper for those.
