It introduces phonemes and spelling rules, which you practice via the technique of spelling dictation using a list each week - but it's not about memorizing lists of words. There is a ton of info on the website, as well as training videos and videos demonstrating the spelling dictation technique. I'm doing this with my 10 year old, we do the spelling portion only, and we use the Advanced word list that is available on the website. It's been really great - after trying and hating spelling workout and lists of misspelled words from written assignments, we've finally found a way for her to learn the logic of the spelling rules, practice them, and apply them to her own work. www.logicofenglish.com Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And they are very responsive, great support and customer service. For my 10 yo, I just bought the pdf of the TM, and I write on the whiteboard and she does it in a notebook - we're just doing the spelling portion. So it was relatively affordable. When I go through it with my little one, I will probably buy the workbook and the phoneme cards, but I don't think I'll buy anything else at this point . . . Each unit starts off with small words (in on ) and builds to larger words (in building to installment etc) Great for my visual spatial learners!
