scrapbookbuzz
Welcome to the Cafe! It's Monday. Need I say more? :glare: But regardless of my late and slow start, it WILL be a good day, darn it! Speaking of which, I need to go get things done. While I'm gone, feel free to chat and give me some ideas for lunch and dinner! :coolgleamA: Talk to me! :coolgleamA:
Jean in Newcastle
Hi ya, Scrap! What do you think about a salad with protein for lunch? :D I have no idea on dinner. I'm still figuring that one out myself. I'm stressed and I didn't sleep well. Today might be interesting.
RocCityMom
We've gotten a slow start today . . . We've neglected our core subjects and covered our "fun" stuff. Sometimes Mondays require it around here. I'm prepping some black bean burgers and sweet potatoes for lunch and we're having carrot soup, salad, crusty bread, and cheese for dinner with fruit for dessert. I am trying some new things this week -- more protein-rich lunches and more vegetable-based, lighter dinners -- having been inspired by Bringing up Bebe! scrapbookbuzz
Jean, salad is very difficult for me to chew so when I have it, which isn't often, it's only in small amounts. Roc, how do you make black bean burgers? Those sound really yummy! And I like the idea of protein-rich lunches and veggie based lighter dinners. Was that a book you read? Was that an idea in that book? It just worked better with our daily routine and dh's work schedule and we all felt better eating that way. UrbanSue
Dh is a professor and started his semester today so that is always invigorating for us as well. We had a soft start with school this year, ramping up dd6 to a full schedule again and only making ds8 do the subjects he enjoys. So this is really our first full day back. So far it's been a great day and I'm off to make lunch.
RocCityMom
I'm making these from the Happy herbivore cookbook. Bringing up Bebe is a book/memoir of an American mom raising her kids in Paris. It was a quick and entertaining read!
scrapbookbuzz
Very cool ideas, everyone! I just realized it's 11am and I need to start thinking about lunch already!
scrapbookbuzz
Lunch is DONE. Do I really have to feed them dinner, too?? They are currently doing science together. My Aspie daughter's ability to read, and read aloud, has vastly improved since I've started having them do these things together and share read! And frees up some of my time!
