twinmami01
So we have decided to get DS an iPad mini. I've only had my iPad for about 9 months, so I still feel like I have a lot to learn. Is it possible for him to have his own Apple ID and still be connected to my iTunes account? That way, we can share the apps we have already purchased? If so, can we pick and choose which apps to download on his iPad, or do they all automatically transfer over?
Eagle
You need to share AppleIDs to be able to share your iTunes purchases. This is what we do with my son's iPhone. You can choose which apps are only for him, which are only for you, and which are used by you both.
Mrs Mungo
You can set the apple IDs for different things. Dh and I share an iTunes account so that we can share music and apps. But, we each have our own apple IDs for our emails, calendars, contacts, FaceTime, etc.
Alte Veste Academy
DH and I have separate iTunes accounts, yet he figured out how to share all of our apps. When one of us buys something the other person also wants, we just sign out of our iTunes account and then log back on with the other person's account info. Then we go to the app store and hit the button to buy it. It will tell you that you've already purchased it and ask if you want to download it again. Say yes and voila. It's yours too. twinmami01
Thanks guys! We managed to create his own apple ID and sign on to my iTunes account so we can share apps, yet he has his own ID to chat with friends.
