dhudson Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 We just received info about an AMC math contests being held at our Umbrella School in February. My 10 th grade ds is interested. He is in AoPS Geometry and has already done Alg 1 and Alg 2. He did well on PSAT. I bought AoPS volume 1 which I believe will help him prepare. What else should I know and how should I prepare him as we are jumping into this late? Quote

Belacqua Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 The Art and Craft of Problem Solving (Zeitz) is another excellent book. I agree with Sebastian, though, that working old test problems is probably the best prep. Quote
Sebastian (a lady) Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Our homeschool group had five students brave the AMC 10 test this week. Art of Problem Solving had a Math Jam covering many of the problems. You can read the transcript of it here. Quote
