SebastianCat
I don't want to hijack the other thread about whether the Recorder is a child's instrument.... ...but how does a homeschooled child learn to play the recorder? Does one need to take formal lessons, or are there good at-home programs? My kids are very interested in learning to play. They have already had 2 1/2 years of piano so they already know how to read music, and both are interested in learning to play additional instruments, like trumpet (DS) and flute (DD). My DS is 10 and DD is 8. I played piano for 10+ years so I feel very comfortable helping them with piano, but I never played any other instruments. Thanks! I talk to the trees
You read music well enough to teach them yourself! Grab a recorder method book, and get going! Hey, if you learn with them, you'll be able to play trios. Talk another hs mom and family into learning with you, and you'll have enough for a consort!
