Mommy to monkeys
I don't remember NEEDING the TM, but it does have the pages reproduced with the answers(as opposed to just the answers). It makes it much easier to grade, but I think you could definitely go without it if you needed to.
aaplank
I originally ordered the TM for 3rd grade math, but I sent it back right away and they gave me a full refund. I realized that I really didn't need it. There are a few lessons which say, "Write the numbers your teacher dictates", that are only found in the TM, but I just made up my own numbers based on what my son was learning. By 3rd grade the student is supposed to be doing most of the work independently, even learning new concepts. If you have already done 2nd grade CLE Math and have the flash cards set up according to how they want you to do it, then you really don't need the TM at all. If not, you might want to consider purchasing it in order to know how to arrange the facts so that your child can work on the flash cards independently. Or you can just do your own thing with flash cards. Hope that helps!
