Best way to get good airfares?

We don't fly often and I want to be sure I'm getting the best deal I can for an upcoming trip two of my sons are taking. What airlines or websites have you had good luck with, please?

Southwest flies out of Orlando, I just don't know what their destinations are. Great airlines, with good policies when changing flights is required. Other than that, I go on a site like Expedia, Travelocity, etc put in the dates, etc. and see who has the best price. Then I go right to the airlines website and book on their site. You pay a fee to use flight/fair finder sites, but not if you book directly through the airlines.

Of course check the discount sites ex. Priceline, Travelocity, etc. But I was really surprised by just calling the airline directly. Look at the various providers at your airport, check the discount sites, and then call the airline of your choice and see what they can do for you. It is a little extra work, but at the current prices, it is worth it. Good luck.

DH and I are flying roundtrip from New Orleans to Ft Lauderdale via Southwest for $318 including taxes, etc. Price for Orlando wasn't much different at all. I'd check Southwest for the best prices.
