brehon
I'm making a tamale pie for dinner tonight and forgot to soak the black beans last night. :glare: I know there's a way to do a "quick soak"; but, my brains are addled and I can't remember. Something about simmering for ?? hours in salted water? And in other news in true Bill Cosby fashion I just forbade my ds11 from ever even breathing in ds5's general direction. :001_huh: Too. Many. Squabbles. and it's not even 9:30 here.
Kim in Appalachia
For quick soak, put the beans in the pot and cover with water (over beans by at least an inch and a half). Bring water to a boil. Boil for one minute, turn off, cover and let sit for an hour. Then they can be cooked. HTH
