Pen
I heard a talk by Robert Rose, Ph.D. that has already made a positive difference in my homeschooling. Here is a link to his book The Complete Teacher. I just ordered so cannot tell you what I think yet, but will report soon. Here is a quote from the blurb on Amazon: "THE COMPLETE TEACHER results in ...students who are independent, self-motivating, and responsible. Everyone is happier and more fulfilled...." There is a spot somewhere where it says something about "New Age"--but, at least in the talk, I didn't notice anything New Age or otherwise. It was about how to educate children. He worked in public schools, but much of what he said would also be applicable to home school--and easier to carry out without administrators to say it isn't allowed. Chrysalis Academy
Tee-hee. I totally misread this at first. *I* am Rose Roberts, PhD, and it kinda freaked me out for a minute! Sadly, I cannot tell you how to become the complete teacher. I will have to go see how my almost namesake is doing!:auto::lol:
Pen
Whoa, I felt freaked for a moment as I read your reply! The book has typos and such, but I think the content is highly worthwhile.
