Hunter
What do you all think of making all vowels have the long vowel sound? That's what Memoria Press teaches, but then does not do on the CD's ?
Army Chaplain
I have the same concern. I looked at Memoria's examples online for Prima Latina and was baffled by it. This obviously will cause trouble when attempting poetic meters.
Hunter
I have the same concern. I looked at Memoria's examples online for Prima Latina and was baffled by it. This obviously will cause trouble when attempting poetic meters. The thing that most concerns me is that reviews say they don't use the pronunciation they are teaching. :confused1: Consistency is more important to me than doing it "right". I've never gotten myself or a student to poetry, so I'm not too concerned about poetry, but I do tend to worry about it, just a bit, when people mention it. I've heard a LOT more warnings about Greek poetry than Latin poetry. EDIT: Welcome newbie Army Chaplain  Edited September 2, 2012 by Hunter
Soror
Fwiw we are brand new to Prima Latina and I'm not an expert but as to the pronunciation being different than what is printed, it hasn't been thus far on the dvd's irt the vowels.
