Guest like2sew
Hello. We brought home my daughter home this year. She would have been going into third grade. Since this is our first year of homeschooling, can anyone tell me if we could start First Language Lessons 3 if we haven't used the previous two books? We are also considering Writing with Ease. I am considering Level Two for Writing with Ease. We would appreciate any advice you could provide on using this curriculum for a child that hasn't used it from the beginning. Thank you.:)
boscopup
Yes, FLL3 and WWE2 sound like good choices. FLL goes over everything from the beginning, including what a noun is, what a sentence is, etc. WWE2 starts some dictation and starts to find the main narrative thread of a passage, but there are plenty of questions to lead the child there, so it shouldn't be an issue for a typical 3rd grader. :)
warneral
absolutely - that's where I started my public schooled 2nd and 3rd graders last year.
Forget-Me-Not
I used both FLL3 and WWE2 for my 3rd grader last year :) FLL3 will review the things taught in FLL 1 & 2. The only real issue I could see is that the memory selections might be a little long if your kid isn't used to memorizing things. But that's easy to adapt.
