Mynyel
I have been working full-time. I have yet to get any federal taxes taken out. SS is the only thing taken out. They have my filing as Married 0 (although I did have that at married 5 but whatever). Why aren't federal taxes being taken out? I have always had federal taken out, even when I was making less. Anyone know? The HR doesn't know, corporate is the one that handles it.
LisaKinVA
At Married and 0, federal should be withheld (no matter how much you're making...I've been paying taxes since making just over minimum wage at $3.25/hr back in the 80's). Sounds like a glitch of some sort.
LucyStoner
Did they accidentally process your w4 wrong? Like accidentally marked you exempt? Get it fixed ASAP so you don't end up in a bind at tax time unless you are prepared to owe a fair bit. Until then, I would set aside your estimated federal tax liability from each paycheck. You can find that number by punching your figures into a payroll calculator online. ADP and paychex both have them.
