Jen500
I want to get a crockpot..but...you know..:tongue_smilie: I love Zojirushi products. Has anyone used or heard of a thermal vacuum cooking pot? Does it really work? I've never heard of them before- http://www.zojirushi.com/products/snxae Stainless Steel Thermal Vacuum Cooking Pot SN-XAE60/80 The Stainless Steel Thermal Vacuum Cooking Pot is a non-electric appliance that slow cooks foods using the food's own heat. Just heat the inner cooking pan on the stove, then place the pan directly into the vacuum insulated outer container to complete cooking. Works like a non-electric slow cooker Stainless steel vacuum insulation with excellent heat retention Saves energy and reduces cooking costs Base-to-rim 3-ply stainless steel construction inner cooking pan Works on all cooking surfaces including IH heaters

Jen500
(could someone please direct a semi-newbie to some information about why crockpots are controversial here? Thanks!) Maybe someone else can help...I don't think I ever finished reading any of the crockpot threads and it was probably a few years ago. I know some people were concerned about cracking/lead in the ceramic pots.
