QuirkyKapers
Thanks! Having a list of concrete things I want to see my kids accomplish by the end of the year to evaluate success by is a helpful.
PeterPan
Yeah I love her idea of visualizing and verbalizing how you want the year to feel. I can definitely see how that would allow you to make choices and deprioritize or deselect things that you realize are moving away from your vision (stuff that otherwise was good). Easier said than done, but I liked it as something to *think* about. It's a whole dimension I hadn't really explored since actually the romantic early days of homeschooling. :D
merry gardens
Thanks! That was great and it gave me lots to ponder. Half way through reading it I stopped reading and took a bike ride to think more about my "secret needs".
NittanyJen
Nice! Great post to consider when deciding whether you really have made choices that align with your long-term educational goals for your kids, or whether you have the correct goals in mind at all.
