mom2agang
If my kids do good in 54 can we skip 65 and go into 76? Do the line up like 54,76,87,pre-algrabra. Sorry 65 and 54 look almost the same to me. Or will my kids benefit from going though 65?
JudoMom
I wouldn't skip it. 8/7 is prealgebra.
Brenda in FL
Hmm - I don't know. I had one child skip 54 and start with 65 and he did just fine. You could always start 76 with the intent to go back if they struggle through the first 50 or so lessons. (I would start at lesson 1 with 76 if I skipped 65 - and do all the problems.) You will most likely only need to do 87 or algebra 1/2 as 87 is pre-algebra. 87 continues to use fact sheets and mental math, while 1/2 does not. If 87 is a struggle then you would do both. Hunter
Whatever you do, keep it easy and fast. It's not about whether they can do that TYPE of problem. It's about whether they can handle a full problem set with speed and accuracy. And there are subtle things included in the problems that are not immediately evident. Tools that help a student discover things that were not explicitly taught. Things they infer, because the problem sets were so strategically designed.
