Guest UrbanRuralMomma
I've been reading that the best way for children to remember new vocabulary words is for them to READ the words in context - in a paragraph, or short story. Is there a curriculum that ties these two together? Need 3rd and 5th grade. Thanks!
Reflections
I don't know of a particular curriculum - there may be one - you could try rainbowresource.com - but my very first thought was to pick out words from their literature and discuss that - that is what we did, and then moved on to Vocabulary from the Roots Up and then picked out words that matched those learned there. Laura Corin
That's part of the Galore Park English curricula. Have a look at the chapter samples and see if they are what you are looking for. This would be for third grade. This would be for fifth. Laura
nansk
The McGuffey Readers sold by Mott Media have vocabulary and spelling words but they are not secular. The Elson Readers and the Free & Treadwell readers are secular.
