momma aimee
my little guy is 1. in love with workbooks and 2. begging to start kindy "now momma, now" I am going to give kindy a go this fall (he is 4.5 and will be 5 in oct) though he is not 'legal' till 2013. he loves work books as they are 'school'. I need suggestion for Bible. he is in Awanas (will be in fall for 2nd year) so we'll do that -- but i was thinking if there is something i could find for him to listen to a stroy, circle pictures, maybe draw pictures of things -- you know 5 / 6 yo "i love work books but can't read or write" :001_smile: OF COURSE He'd be on my lap doing it with me, but he does love his workbooks. Anything? any ideas?
alisoncooks
Christian Light's 1st grade program has a workbook-y Bible that might be do-able for your little one. It looks to have a 1 pg. Bible story (that you read) and 1 page of coloring/activities/etc. http://www.clp.org/store/by_course/17 Bible Study Guide for All ages has a Beginner's workbook for ages 3-K. Looks like something that could easily be done 1 on 1, not too strenuous. http://biblestudyguide.com/beginner-student-pages.php (Both of these would have mom reading story/directions, etc. but look do-able for one that age.) For something "lighter", I'm considering this workbook: http://www.christianbook.com/big-book-of-preschool-puzzles-2/9780830752270/pd/752270?event=CF Edited July 13, 2012 by alisoncooks

CLE won't last a full year, if you do it everyday, jsyk. BSGFAA is nice because it grows with the child. The worksheets are affordable when you skip the other stuff. We used them for part of K and 1st and I didn't need all the extras. However, as a child gets older and you're really digging deeper they might be helpful, but for K the worksheets are plenty. If he likes to color, Rod & Staff makes some nice little coloring books that go with Bible events or specific passages (like the 23rd Psalm). Those are nice for that age.
