Momma_Bear
I can't seem to find anything I like but I don't know of many curriculums for the subject. I'm mostly looking for worldview course for a 9th grader, but if you're using something you like I need to find more options! :D :bigear:

Durriyyah
If you are trying for a World Religions sort of thing, would a type of Geography book work? Otherwise, I thought DK and NG had some World Religions books.

For world religions, I'm a big fan of the Huston Smith books, especially the Illustrated World's Religions (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/illustrated-worlds-religions-huston-smith/1001820840?ean=9780060674403). jessicalb
I am using Usborne's World Religion book and World Religions: The Great Faiths Explored & Explained(http://www.amazon.com/World-Religions-Faiths-Explored-Explained/dp/0756617723/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1340559372&sr=1-1&keywords=world+religions) My Very Formal Plan is to add in a short study of each religion as we hit it's origin in history. Candid
Sorry, forgot to mention that. We're Non-Denominational Christians. :001_smile: This is still not making a ton of sense to me, but I'll tell you what my plans are. First we use Tapestry of Grace so we have a set progression through history and some religious materials mixed in with their stuff. The first year with ancient history, there was a lot of pure Bible study so I added on this Sunday School program. It is somewhat topical of various "issues" that youth may need to apply the Bible to. Next year we'll study from the fall of Rome to about 1800. There will be a thorough study of church history and I've decided that we'll do a commentary on the Westminster Shorter Catechism and maybe a short course on ethics (ethics are often covered in catechism in a section on the ten commandments). Next year Tapestry use two interesting books: one on the theology of the Civil War and one on the rise of modern revivalism. I'm not quite sure what I will add on. We may just go back to something unrelated.
tvaleri
Just putting this out there, not looking to debate =) You stated you are non-denominational Christians. Do you realize TOG is very Calvinist/Reformed which is reflected in the curriculum and authors of the book selections? Smiles, Teresa

Smiles, Teresa Do you know this because you've read the books and instructor's guide or just because you've heard it? Because if it is the second, I've had this conversation before and that second option is not well informed.
