love2read
Time to replace our clothes line because the metal fixture that allows us to tighten it no longer works. I'd like to find a twine or rope that doesn't need to be tightened, any suggestions?
LaxMom
I just use the heavy weight line from Lowe's. I think it's rated for 60lbs. Rather than fiddle with permanent lines that all sag, I think, with use, I use boat cleats. One is affixed to the back fence, the other to the back of the garage. I tie off the rope at either end and, of it needs to be adjusted, I just unwind it from one of the cleats and re-wind it on, tighter. love2read
That's what I was using. I'm not sure why it needs to be tightened so much, but it's a weekly thing.
*Michelle*
Paracord. It does not stretch at all.
Wildiris
The rope stretches with the weight of the clothes. I've put a pole midway along my long clothes line. I put the pole up when the clothes are hanging and ready to dry, then I take the pole down and pull the clothes in.
