Is the commentary indispensable for using the program well, or are the student books self-explanatory? I don't usually find the teacher boxes in Grammar or Sentence Island very useful. Chrysalis Academy Posted June 11, 2012 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Yes, you can get by with just the student book, as long as you don't need the answers to the grammar exercises, the analogies, etc. You will also miss out on the end of lesson cumulative quizzes.
