mom2denj
I am spending my weekend organizing my recipes. I am planning on using some photo albums and index cards. I am wondering if anyone has a really cool system that they use?

mandymom
Plan to Eat is definitely the way to go. I've used it for 2 years now, and I couldn't be happier!

mandymom
More please! What do you love about it? I actually plan meals now! For me, it has to be quick and simple to implement or it doesn't get done. This lets me store recipes, categorize and tag them as I wish, and then drag and drop them in to a calendar to plan meals. I can even save several week-long (or whatever length you wish) meal plans to use later and drop into a calendar. Once you have a meal plan, you can generate a shopping list based off the meal plan, and it's super easy to customize the list. Then, I go to the store and pull the mobile app up on my phone and see my shopping list (and when I've put something in the cart, I just touch the item on the list and it disappears). When I'm ready to cook, I take my Kindle Fire into the kitchen and use the recipes on my plan to make the meal. I can also let my kids know what we are having for dinner, because I can link my menus to their Google calendars. It is also quick and easy to share via Facebook (button on recipe page) when a friend requests a recipe. There are tons of other features, but these are the ones I use most. I cook more and spend less since I started using Plan to Eat. I tried doing the paper and pencil method, and it never got done. I tried things like eMealz, but I really wanted to use my own recipes. Plan to Eat has everything I need and more. Edited May 19, 2012 by mandymom
mommaduck
I have big, coloured index cards and a card box with a lock (thank OfficeMax!). Mine are filed by our Church calendar/fasts and feast days.
NancyNellen
More please! What do you love about it? I really LOVE the fact that I can import recipes that I find on the web directly to my recipe list...it cuts down on all the copies of recipes I wish to try one day. If I don't like them I can just delete them. I also really enjoy using my iPad and not having to worry about paper. I hate paper clutter! The grocery list is great. I have Costco, my local farmer's market, and my local grocery listed in my grocery list and I can drag the differ items from my list to the appropriate store by category (produce, dairy, etc.) I also have a couple friends on Plan to Eat and we are able to share all of our recipes with one another. Awesome. Definitely worth the $35 a year.
