shastanarnia
Help!! I'm completely overwhelmed by the process of developing schedules for our school year. I am doing my children a disservice by not providing them more structure...especially my add/aspie 15yoDS. He needs a more rigid structure to his day than I've been providing him. Can anyone give me either some curriculum ideas that are easy to schedule or an approach to take for someone in my situation. thanks,
PeterPan
1-Make sure they can do their stuff independently. (except for the 7 yo) Like that LoF wouldn't make the cut for me, because there's not a hope or prayer of it getting done independently. 2-CHECKLISTS. 3- Teach them to USE the checklists. 4- Put your energy into supervising the checklists. Notice a pattern? Checklists don't mean drudgery, and they don't mean you aren't flexible. They mean you wake up knowing the plan. No one has to wake up not knowing what their plan is for the day. Checklists my friend, checklists.
