Marie131
I'm looking for some reading material for my K'er and 2nd grader for next year. I did a search and didn't come up with much. Has anyone used the Free & Treadwell readers? Are they worth buying or do you recommend something else?

alisoncooks
I like them. I have the Primer and 1st reader. I have the 2nd and 3rd readers on my wishlist. I think they're pretty good (I prefer to them to the McGuffey Readers, actually, as they're retellings of fables, literature, etc). Bought mine from Amazon. HiddenJewel
I found the Treadwell readers in an ebook nline free a while back. Can't remember which site. Perhaps archive.org.

nansk
No need to buy them if you are willing to read them online (or on an ereader). The stories are short, so that much of screen time may be acceptable to you. Another good option is the Elson Readers; also available for free download via archive.org.
