Good literature/classics written on a 3rd grade reading level? (for a boy)

Recommended Posts

Or can you point me in the direction of a classics list sorted by reading level?

Either way, thanks!

I'm looking for one of those too. I've found some generic ones like 3rd-5th grade, but I want one that specifically says: Treasure Island 5.4 reading level. I'm really not wanting to have to type each classic into the Scholastic book wizard. :glare:

My dd is reading the Great Illustrated Classics series. Lots of "boy" books in the set, Treasure Island, Three Musketeers, Call of the Wild etc. Most of the books seems to fall into the 3rd to earlier 5th grade reading level. They are much easier than the originals but still contain many vocab words and metaphors to stretch young readers
