amyco
What is your favorite translation of "Oedipus Rex"? What about "Antigone"? Are there any good audio versions or DVDs? Thanks so much!
Lori D.
Having exposure only to the Fitzgerald translation of Oedipus Rex and Antigone, I have nothing to compare with. ;) I'm responding just 'cause I didn't want your post to be lonely. :) We did the Fitzgerald with grade 8 and 9 DSs with no problems, and even took different parts and read it aloud as though doing a reading of a play. BEST of luck, whatever you go with! In case it helps, below are past thread discussions comparing various translations of various Ancient works. Warmest regards, Lori D. amyco
Awwww...thanks Lori! I think the Fitzgerald is certainly the cheapest one out there and I'm guessing it's also the easiest to find. I am glad to hear you had success with it!

Charles Wallace
Any good DVD performances of Oedipus? The one with the masks is...well, useful in a kind of anthropological way, but it's not exactly viewer-friendly.
