Ginevra
Is there any way to get rid of old laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras and the like that is not complex?
smstjohn
I would check your county or state waste management department. Many states have laws on how these things can be disposed of and drop off points. Also, some retailers, like Best Buy, have recycling programs as well. J-rap
I've heard you can bring old electronic equipment to Best Buy. I don't know much about it, but you could maybe do a web search.
frugalmama
I sold mine on craiglist - the guy who bought it was buying broken laptops to teach kids how to repair them.
meggie
What do we do with old electronics and computers? Take them apart and investigate how they work. This is more DH's area of expertise.

This is more DH's area of expertise. Yes, we have an old computer sitting under a table in our dining room that DS12 and DS7 are itching to take apart. DH has agreed that they'll do it as a project, but he's yet to make the time ... Cassy
LBS
Freecycle them.
NanceXToo
Have a "tinkering" class for your homeschool group (if you're in one), or just for your family. Give the kids some old appliances, tools, let them take them apart, see what's inside, try to put them back together, and so on!
