Mom-ninja.
Teaching a dyslexic child is either going to turn me into the most patient and understanding person, or it's going to kill me. Guess which direction I feel like I'm headed?

Shellers
Teaching a dyslexic child is either going to turn me into the most patient and understanding person, or it's going to kill me. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I feel your pain. Last year I started afterschooling my son before I pulled him from public school. It was a sort of test for me to see if we could handle it, and if I could teach him how to read, which is something his school couldn't do. I started off telling my son, I was going to teach him to read even if it kills me. He thought it was funny. Good news is I'm still alive and he's reading! He's made such HUGE improvements since we started homeschooling, but man there are some days (Mondays) that can be rough. Sometimes I think it would be easier if we practiced his reading and spelling seven days a week. When things aren't going so well I try and act like how I think my Grandma would in the same situation. The woman had the patience of a Saint. ShelleyW
I feel your pain too. I have told my dd too many times to count that she will come out of our confrontations (what most people call a reading lesson:)) reading. I WILL WIN THIS BATTLE!! or I will die trying.
