Stuart Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 I have a chick who was being picked on by the others. He must have suffered a broken leg from being trampled. The leg basically sticks straight out backward from the hip. I tried bracing the two legs together for 2 wks. It did improve the leg a little but not much. She was getting around fine but since the brace is off and she is getting big she is having a really hard time balancing. Not sure what I should do any ideas? I keep praying she will adjust to her disability but I'm not sure. She eats, drinks and eliminates without problem. Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kiana Posted January 7, 2012 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Honestly if it's been weeks and the bone wasn't splinted straight in the first place there really isn't anything you can do. Stuart Posted January 7, 2012 Author Share Posted January 7, 2012 She is about 3 mths maybe??? She came from my uncles flock. She is living in my spare room in a dog crate. Unfortunately we live in the NE so she will be inside with us for a while. my father is making us a cage for her. She's definitly a pet chicken now. I just feel bad about her leg.
