QueenieReighn
I've been looking at boxes of rocks because my daughter loves rocks so much that she calls them her friends. Seriously though, she really does prefer rocks over people. I was looking at the GeoSafari boxes (there are 5 of them) and I really, really want what they have on the pictures of those 5 boxes, but I've heard that the pictures are nothing like what you actually get in those boxes. Can anyone point me in the right direction of finding an awesome collection for my daughter so she can hold some nice examples of rocks and try to find out what some of her huge piles of rocks are. (She's a hands-on girl...not one for those books that could give her the same info.) Thanks!
Kalmia
I've had good luck with these companies. If you want specific rocks, you might try teacher source a good place finding a place to order nicer specimens individually. http://www.acornnaturalists.com/store/Rock-and-Mineral-Kits-and-Specimens-C337.aspx http://www.teachersource.com/EarthScienceGeology/RocksAndMinerals.aspx http://www.hometrainingtools.com/rocks-minerals/c/22/
QueenieReighn
Thanks! Those look like some awesome kits! :-) Anyone have an opinion on what the best kit you've ever seen is? I really think that http://www.hometrainingtools.com/rocks-minerals-premium-set---75-specimens/p/RM-ROCK75/ looks like what my science teacher had in high school and I loved that thing. :-) Edited December 13, 2011 by QueenieReighn
