LAS in LA Posted October 12, 2011 Share Posted October 12, 2011 I'd be glad to hear opinions on whether a 3rd/4th grader would be ready for LOF Fractions after completing the Miquon books. EDIT: The child has to know long division specifically. Have you looked at the Key To Fractions books? I have them and I am sure they can be started after Miquon. My 4th grader finished Miquon last summer, and we're spending the fall finding & filling gaps (like getting fast at mult tables), then plan to start Fred in December or January. nansk Posted October 14, 2011 Share Posted October 14, 2011 No. Actually the Key To.. workbooks were written by the son of the Miquon author. :) Both sets of books are published by his company (Key Curriculum Press). These workbooks start from the basics, provide lots of incremental practice and are very affordable. Of course, they are very different from LoF.
