annlaura
SIL just discovered my 2yo niece has pinworms. :ack2: We will be seeing them next weekend at an historical reenactment. Hand washing will not be readily available. Does hand sanitizer gel kill them? Would scrubbing hands with wet wipes do the trick? Are there other steps I can take to try to prevent my boys getting them?
simka2
Are you just "seeing" then or are you guys sharing a hotel room? After a week of treatment and so long as she has washed their clothes you should be okay. Handwashing is always good ;). For what it is worth I have very mixed feelings on Pinworms. I have one ds who had them 4 times!!!! No one else ever got them, yet he shared a room with his 2 brothers. Each time we washed everything, but he would get them again in a month or two. This lasted for about a year and then he never had them again. It really was weird.
Chris in VA
You can inhale the eggs--weird, indeed. You should be ok if they've undergone treatment.
Sputterduck
Lucky girl! Apparently worms will make her far less likely to get an autoimmune disease later on. :)
annlaura
We aren't sharing a hotel room, just seeing them. Thanks for the reassurances. :) Hopefully it will all be fine.

I'd never heard this before. I'll tell my SIL. Should make her feel a bit better.
