LauraGB
Is anyone here from there (or near there)? This morning I woke up to an acrid smoke smell in my bedroom at 530A - and I'm over 400 miles away from there! The air here was horrible until about noon; it was like being on the downwind side of a campfire. It was difficult to breath without coughing outside. If it's that bad here, how bad is it there? Has everyone been evacuated? Last I checked, over 16 thousand acres had burned around the Boundary Waters area.
Karen A
It got smoky in the north/west Chicago suburbs this afternoon/evening--as you say, seemed like a campfire nearby. It was weird and mysterious until I heard a radio report that it blew in from MN!
hsmom23
We didn't notice anything but we are currently in southern Minnesota. now I am curious to talk to family more north of here to see if they noticed anything. I just heard about the fire itself on the news tonight. It was talking about wildfires and then when the first freeze was coming, LOL, nature seems to be pretty crazy this year! annlaura
I've been worried too! This afternoon I thought there must be a bad fire in a neighboring suburb because of the smoke and smell in the air, only to find out it was coming from Minnesota. Praying for all affected. :grouphug:
AngelBee
I am in MN, but by Twin Cities. So scary!
Mergath
I live in central MN, and we haven't noticed anything. Strange.
Pam Wilhelm
We're in Detroit Lakes, MN.....no fires here, but I heard on the radio that the arrow point was battling blazes and there would be bad air quality as it blows eastward. Here's an article in our local paper... http://www.dl-online.com/event/article/id/62962/group/homepage/
